Alfred is the back bone the family. He watches over everyone and makes sure things go as smooth as they can. When someone steps out of line, he comes in, tactfully, and tells them what they are doing is wrong.
He moved to El Paso from Cheyenne Wyoming soon after Jacob beat cancer the second time around. He had to come in and settle down his daughter and bring her to terms on having a gay son. Along he way, he adopted Tony Llamas. A thirteen year old kid who lost his foster parents.
At the same time, he built a business with his grandson, Jacob, which took on it own life. It started as a multi-million dollar a year company and in over time grew a lot bigger. When he retired and handed the company over to Jacob, the company was worth in the hundreds of millions.
As he built his company, Al worked for the republican governor of Texas, Governor Daniel Lopez. Over in time Governor Lopez grew to depend on Al’s steady hand on getting things done. Through his years as Governor Lopez’s senior advisor, Al help shape and put through third rail laws. With Al’s help, the governor passed the first huge gay rights bill in the U.S. along with many other laws before retiring.
I would say that this is how I had him pictured.
