David met Jacob in the hospital the second time he had cancer. David was Jacob’s nurse where they got to know each other. Later Jacob found out that they both attended the same high school as they got to know each other.
Fresh off of Joey moving to Arizona, Jacob was lonely and was about to start dating David. One of the main reasons is that David reminded Jacob of Joey a lot. The very day when Jacob was about to say yes to going out with David, Joey appeared and put a wrench in the mix. Eventually Jacob went back to Joey, leaving David as his friend.
But it didn’t take long for David to find someone new, a star football player on the school football team, Tom. They had a rocky start, but made it through their first break up and got back together.
David moved in with Jacob after his father, a judge, was appointed to a higher court in the state by the governor. The father didn’t like it, but let it happen because David didn’t want to move due to all his friends and boyfriend in El Paso.
Soon after that, David had the worse day in his life. He got raped and only made it because of Tom and his friends. After that horrible day, David and Tom were always together. Their relationship grew so strong, that there isn’t anything that could break them apart.
