Isaac is the oldest of Josh’s uncles, and the older brother of Daniel Sr. He came back into the lives of the boys when Daniel asked for his help to take care of the kids in EL Paso while in Austin.

Their relationship was strained when Martha, Daniel’s ex-wife told Daniel it is either him or her. She didn’t like that Isaac is gay and open about it. She feared that Isaac might turn her kids gay. Just barely getting married, Daniel took Martha’s side.

But once Martha was out of the picture, Daniel asked his older brother for help. Not holding a grudge, he said yes.
