Russ was hired to replace Jonathan as head of Josh’s security detail. He was recommended by the Governor of California. One of the reasons Governor Lopez liked him is because he is gay. Knowing how it is to be gay, Daniel thought that maybe he would be uniquely qualified to run Josh’s detail.
