New House:

This house was built from scratch in the summer of Josh’s freshman and sophomore year. Everyone had input on how the house would look. It isn’t a large house, but it will do for what the family needs to begin a new life.

The house also had to be built because of security reasons since Daniel Lopez became governor and later in his life the president. So it needed to have more control as far as comings and goings and how close the press gets to the house.

As you can see in the first pages is the land and that there is only one road that circles around. The security is able to block off both roads far from the house without putting anyone out-of-the-way that lives in the nearby houses.

Then the next pictures you are seeing are of separate rooms. It ranged from the kitchen, to the sitting room, to the movie room all the way to Josh’s and Cesar’s room. The reason for these pictures is so when you read someone is in a certain room, you can be with them in that room as well. Walk in their shoes as you read along in the story.

Thanks for the visualization of the house they live in. Nicely done, and a good house for this purpose it seams.

The house is absolutely beautiful and grounds as well. About how many square feet feet of heated space is there? I assume there is heated sq feet on all three (?) levels.

How many bedrooms would a house like that have? I’m guessing 8. One for each person or couple in family: Three boys, Rose, Issac, Josh and Cesar and the parents plus guest room.

The movie room would be in the basement most likely. Often the master bedroom and guest bedroom – one or the other or both are on the first (ground) floor. Is that the case here?

On Josh’s and Cesar’s room. I assume the door we see it to is the hall. What was the floor plan Josh drew for the bedroom? We can’t see the wall where bedroom furniture, bathroom and closet doors are located. If we knew the arrangement of the main bedroom plus the closet and bathrooms we could visualize even more. I’ve been in homes where everything dealing with getting dressed is in the closet area which can lead into the bedroom or go into the bathroom or if the closet area was big enough have a door leading to both the bathroom and bedroom. Such a closet area would have drawers for all folded clothes, hanging clothes, hopefully enough room for a two chairs to use in getting dressed so it isn’t mandatory to go out into the room to get dressed.

Josh spent a lot of time designing the floor plan. I would love to see the drawing he drew here.

At that point in time, would boys in a home like that have a computer in their rooms?

I love the kitchen, but they will have to get a bigger table unless all the boys are going to sit on that nice window seat that is built in. lol

Lots of question that I wondered about and figured I wasn’t the only one who thought them.

Again a very wonderful elegant home that would fit El Paso.. I could get my head into designing that house including the floor plan and decorum! The Lopez famly needs a house that size without a shadow of doubt, but most school teachers would have had trouble paying for the old house, much less the new one.

However, four bedrooms could have been doable before Rose, Issac and Cesar moved into the house and the general became a governor! Two brothers sharing a room is quite common in the US.
